Facebook has announced plans to introduce two new features for videos: “related videos” and “view count.” With these updates, the platform takes a step closer to rivaling YouTube, while also providing page administrators with detailed video analytics.
One of the new features will allow videos to include a call-to-action link at the end, making them a tool for driving traffic. This will give users, particularly advertisers, the opportunity to direct traffic to their websites through videos.
Since May, Facebook has seen a 50% increase in video views, and with these new initiatives, it seems poised to challenge its competitors even further.
