Twitter has announced a three-step age verification screen on its blog, enabling brands offering adult products to share legal content and advertise more easily on the platform.
Users who wish to follow brand content with age restrictions, such as tobacco or alcohol (which are often limited to 18+ in many countries), can do so by entering their date of birth without leaving the page. If the user does not meet the age requirement, a warning screen will appear, informing them that they cannot access the content.
