The era of 280-character tweets has officially begun following the conclusion of Twitter’s testing phase to increase the character limit.
During the early days of testing, it was observed that users only exceeded the 140-character limit when necessary. This trend suggests that social media users continue to post content in line with Twitter’s original character-focused essence. Statistics reveal that only 9% of tweets to date have utilized the full character limit.
According to Twitter officials, the number of tweets reaching the maximum character count has also been gradually decreasing over time.
