Twitter has launched its new application, Twitter Engage, designed specifically for celebrities and influencers. The app aims to help them interact with their followers and maintain their audience, while also providing insights into how their tweets perform and engage others.
This new tool allows selected prominent figures on Twitter to upload content directly and monetize it. Additionally, users can now share videos up to 140 seconds long through the app.
The application consists of three main sections:
- Top Tab: Highlights the most important interactions on Twitter, showing mentions from verified users, followers’ most-followed accounts, or the accounts with the highest engagement.
- Understand Tab: Displays high-level analytics for tweets and shows engagement trends over time.
- Posts Tab: Provides performance metrics for each tweet.
Twitter has also announced its initiative to enable longer videos on Vine. While previously limited to 30-second videos, Twitter users can now upload videos up to 140 seconds long. Additionally, a select group of Vine users has begun testing longer video formats, where 6-second clips can serve as teasers for larger stories.
With the “Amplify Open” program, Vine is researching ways to help content creators monetize their work in the future. This aligns with Twitter’s goal of advancing its position among social media platforms by focusing on video content, which has seen a 50% increase in 2016.
Twitter has also enhanced its search capabilities, making it easier to find video tweets and Vines. When you click on a video tweet or Vine in your timeline, you’ll see suggestions for other video tweets displayed in a full-screen interface.
Currently, the Twitter Engage app is available on the App Store but is limited to users in the United States.
