The competition in the smartphone market is fierce.
When comparing the newly introduced iPhone 5S, Samsung Galaxy S4, and HTC One, which one would you choose?
It is well known that Apple/iPhone is a brand with a significant market share and a loyal audience in its class. After heated disputes and lawsuits—some even settled with coins—Apple and Samsung decided to continue independently. They are growing and evolving in an increasingly competitive environment.
On the other hand, HTC aims to rank among the top three in this race and is achieving this technically. However, it seems that HTC is not getting the sales recognition it deserves these days.
Some focus on features, while others prioritize design and aesthetics. So, what matters most to you? Or is it simply herd mentality?

This table reflects smartphone sales and percentage evaluations as of February 2013.
- Samsung
- Nokia
- Apple
Surprising results, aren’t they? Especially seeing Nokia in second place globally.
Do the iPhone 5S, Galaxy S4, and HTC One earn their spots with their features? The decision is yours…
NFC Feature—contactless payment. This feature is only available on the Galaxy S4. In the HTC One, it is optional and can be enabled if desired. Do you think it’s necessary?
And what about the iPhone series? Why doesn’t it have NFC support? Could it be because of the “TOUCH ID” feature introduced with the iPhone 5S launch, aiming to make our fingerprint the ultimate password in the future? We believe so. Are there many of us currently using the NFC feature? Will there be more with the iPhone 5S? You decide…
Larger Screen or Medium-sized but High-Quality/High-Resolution Screen? Which do you prefer?
The iPhone increases its screen size vertically, while HTC and Samsung opt for proportional growth.
Apple – IPS LED? Samsung Galaxy – Super AMOLED? HTC One – SuperLCD3?
What are the advantages and disadvantages of these three models?
Of course, the Retina display on the iPhone is at the forefront compared to Samsung and HTC.
Samsung and HTC, using Android as their operating system, dominate in terms of widespread usage and are the most common systems we see in our social circles. What about iOS? Naturally, iOS is at the forefront, consistently evolving. In fact, “iOS 7” will be released for free on September 18. It’s not as common because, unlike Android, it’s not used across various brands. Hence, iOS remains unfamiliar to those who are not Apple users.
Another question: “There’s no radio on the iPhone!”
Unfortunately, we deeply feel this drawback. Especially in Turkey, where internet packages offered by carriers average 1-2 GB. If we use internet radio apps instead of a traditional radio, can we manage? Of course not. If you listen to radio programs daily during your commute, you’d agree with us and other Apple users: we want a radio feature integrated into Apple devices.
With iPhone 5S, iTunes Radio will be available, but it will work over the internet…
How many megapixels?
No one buys a phone without asking about the megapixels of its camera. Here’s the breakdown:
- iPhone 5S (8MP)
- Galaxy S4 (13MP)
- HTC One (4 Ultrapixels)
If you’re wondering what Ultrapixel means, here’s an explanation: It’s a feature that increases photo clarity by capturing more light. For example, the HTC One camera captures 40% more light than the iPhone 5.
