Instagram, the popular photo and video sharing platform under Facebook’s umbrella, has introduced several new updates aimed at making the platform more secure and enjoyable for its users.
Revamped Comments
The “Turn Off Comments” feature, previously available only to celebrities and select users, is now accessible to all accounts. Users can easily disable comments on their posts by navigating to the “Advanced Settings” section. Additionally, comments now have a like feature similar to posts. Users can show appreciation for specific comments by clicking the heart icon next to them.
Remove Followers
If you no longer wish to have a specific user in your follower list, you can now remove followers without blocking them. Previously, the only option was to block users. With this update, you can remove a follower discreetly, and they will not receive a notification about the removal.
Enhanced Help Center
Instagram’s Help Center has been upgraded to support users in sensitive situations. If you notice someone posting content that suggests they may be struggling or need assistance, you can now report it anonymously to the Help Center. The 24/7 team will review the report and guide the individual toward appropriate support resources without making it obvious that someone intervened. This feature allows you to help friends discreetly through Instagram.
What’s Next?
After introducing live video, disappearing photos, and videos, Instagram continues to roll out new features without slowing down. These recent updates will be available to all users over the coming weeks. It remains to be seen what other innovations Instagram has in store for its user base.
