Instagram continues to evolve and capture users’ attention with new features, especially tailored for brands and businesses. One of its latest developments is the introduction of “Business Tools”, designed specifically for brands and enterprises.
As one of the world’s most popular photo-sharing platforms, Instagram has announced that it will soon launch new management tools aimed at helping businesses gain insights, analyze statistics, and develop strategies to meet their needs.
Owned by Facebook, Instagram is continually enhancing its platform to provide brands with a comprehensive suite of tools. Frequently used as an advertising platform, Instagram stands out as one of the most widely used platforms for connecting with your target audience on social media.
The “Business Tools” suite includes three primary features:
1. Business Profiles
Business Profiles are designed to make it easier for brands to connect with their users and for potential customers to determine how to contact a brand. Users will be able to choose from options like contacting via email, sending a message, or visiting the brand’s website. Additionally, the location of the brand or business will be viewable on a map. Brands and companies can use this feature for free.
2. Insights
With Insights, brands will be able to easily identify which of their posts resonate most with their audience. This tool will facilitate more interactive communication between brands and users while providing detailed insights about the target audience. It enables brands to classify their audience based on age, gender, and demographics, and even determine the times when users are most active on the platform. This data can help brands develop actionable insights and strategies.
3. Promote
Following its advertising features, Instagram is now expanding its tools to allow brands to turn posts into ads directly. By using the Promote tool, brands can identify their most engaging posts and transform them into ads without leaving the app. Leveraging Facebook’s extensive database—based on users’ gender, age, location, and interests—brands can create a general map of their target audience and save it for future campaigns.
A New Era for Brands on Instagram
With these tools, Facebook emphasizes that Instagram is entering a new transition phase for brands and businesses. The Business Tools will first be rolled out to businesses and brands in the US, Australia, and New Zealand, with plans to expand globally by the end of 2016. The tools will continue to be refined during this rollout phase.
