Google has launched its new “Smart Reply” feature, designed to provide pre-formatted responses for active email users.
Do you struggle to keep up with your daily influx of emails? Google aims to alleviate this challenge by responding to your emails on your behalf. The “Smart Reply” feature is integrated into Google’s Inbox product. Using this tool, Google generates quick responses for your emails based on your past replies. All you need to do is select a pre-prepared response and hit send.
For emails that require simple answers like “Yes/No,” this feature allows quick responses. For emails requiring more detailed replies, you remain in control, but the feature assists by offering suggestions to expedite the process and improve over time.
How Does It Work?
The new feature, called “Smart Reply,” was developed by Google engineers starting with the question, “Does this email need a response?” The content of emails is analyzed using machine learning algorithms. If a response is deemed necessary, the system generates potential replies using smart algorithms and offers three options for the user to choose from.
When you open an email, if a quick reply suggestion is available, it will appear below the email. You can select the suggestion and, if needed, add your own text before sending it. Over time, as you continue using the feature, it learns and improves, offering more tailored suggestions based on your writing style. This means you’ll save time on email responses during the day.
When Will It Be Available?
The Inbox update, including the “Smart Reply” feature, will be rolled out next week for iOS and Android users. Initially available in the United States, the feature is expected to expand to other regions, including Turkey, in the near future.
