After nearly two years of development, Facebook has introduced Workplace, a platform designed to suit office environments. Built with features similar to Facebook, Workplace allows users to communicate with colleagues within their network.
Workplace is available for companies through a subscription-based model, with pricing determined per user. With this launch, Facebook aims to compete with platforms like Slack, offering tailored applications for businesses.
Currently, Workplace is being utilized by over 1,000 organizations and more than 100,000 groups worldwide, including in countries such as Norway, the United States, the United Kingdom, and France.
The platform is particularly useful for non-desk employees, such as retail workers, ship crews, and bartenders, who are actively engaged in fieldwork rather than traditional office environments. Workplace provides a mobile-friendly app to support these roles effectively.
