To gather more insights into its users’ activities on the social network, Facebook has developed various applications, and now it is introducing a new method to track users’ activities through their cursor movements. With this method, Facebook will be able to determine which areas of the site users hover their cursors over more frequently.
Currently in the testing phase with a limited number of users, this application will be implemented for Facebook’s 1.19 billion users if successful. This feature will be particularly beneficial for advertisers, as areas where cursors frequently hover will be identified as prime spots for ad placement, ultimately increasing the likelihood of ads being clicked.
