Instagram has introduced a new feature that allows users to add clickable hashtags and accounts to their bios. This update aims to enhance user interaction and make it easier to discover new accounts and topics of interest.
Previously limited to 150 characters, emojis, and website links, bios can now include hashtags and account tags to increase visibility. The app will automatically suggest popular hashtags when users type the “#” symbol, and similarly, other Instagram accounts can be tagged by adding the “@” symbol in the bio.
If a user tries to tag an account they do not own, Instagram will display an “Invalid Account” warning, and the update will not be completed.
